In 2011 we launched our own ‘lean startup’ for a design-driven speaker company. The initial product was beta-tested for market acceptance on the web. Based on incredibly strong demand, it was later launched on Kickstarter and was only the second product to raise $1mm in funding on a $10k budget. This subsequently led to two other products and a successful 6 year business.
HiddenRadio
The concept is simple. Lift to hear. The further you lift the cap, the more speaker is revealed and the louder the product becomes. The HiddenRadio 1 was the first product to spawn a new class of 360 degree sound products.

The success of our first product allowed us to further launch from product to a real business with manufacturing, distribution, marketing and design.
HiddenRadio 2
Based upon our first product success, we were able to further launch our second edition product. This had a capacitive sensor in the top for music control, a companion app, and the ability to link two speakers together at once. In addition, we also pioneered AutoPlay which would allow the speaker to sense when you are in the room and automatically pick up your music from where you left off.

The accompanying app provided the ability to customer music settings, speaker naming and link and control multiple speakers together.
HiddenHUB
Based on listening to our passionate user base, we further developed the HiddenHUB. This was the first product of its kind that could sense a room’s environment and automatically adjust the audio settings based on how near or far accompanying walls were.

The speaker had a large capacitive dial for audio control and was accompanied by a subwoofer and 4 tweeters. It additionally had the ability to link up to smaller satellite speakers.
